From 2015-2017, I would often begin live sets with one of my lightly comedic guided meditations, which I called Relaxation Scenarios. The premise was: "what if the person leading a guided meditation was well-meaning but extremely neurotic and easily distracted?"
They generally consisted of 15-20 minutes of gentle rambling, my voice pitched down through an effect pedal, following a general outline but indulging in whatever tangents and real-time self-evaluation that naturally came up.
When I heard that The Smudge was releasing a series of playful guided meditations, I knew it was a match made in heaven. Due to the flexi-disc format, this Relaxation Scenario has been edited down to a tight 6 minutes. An album of full-length Relaxation Scenarios is forthcoming.
